This Vintage Native American Katchina Toy was hand made using stuffed suede and glass bead work. It was inspired (according to the attached paperwork) from a petroglyph found at the Bandolier National Monument in New Mexico.
The face is beaded with glass beads. The doll and all of the clothing is made from suede.The horns are grey felt. The tiny hand prints on the skirt were also inspired by petroglyphs at the Bandolier National Monument. The paperwork says: Detail of large.
Bandolier Nat'l (National) Mon. Measurements: 15.5 " long (tip of horns to feet) x 8" wide x 1.5 deep. Condition: Wear and soiled from age and usage. I have acquired a large collection of Native American baskets, carvings, jewelry, sculptures and pottery recently. There are over 50 fetishes, many sculptures and about 50 pieces of Native pottery.
