Stunning Rare Vintage (Ca 1940's) Traditional Hopi "Mudhead, " Kachina (Katsina) in Magnificent for Age Condition. 9" H x 3" L x 3.5 W with string attached to back for hanging. This dancing on top of a drum Hopi doll with loincloth is a real treasure for anyone collecting old Katsinas, or desiring to add spice to a collection of contemporary Katsinas. Vintage Kachinas in this condition rarely become available to the public, but out of necessity is being let go by age long collector of "Old Style" & Antique Hopi dolls, & carved many generations ago.

Any knowledgeable Kachina doll collector will find this scarce "Mudhead" highly desirable. This particular religious spirit is seen at most Hopi ceremonies playing the role of humorous entertainer at their dances. They dance, play drums or games, dance, and may even act as announcers for special events.
